A hilltop property in north Queensland has been named the best house in the country by the Master Builders Association.
The nautical-inspired house at Mandalay Point in the Whitsundays took out the coveted title.
Mackay Whitsunday Master Builders spokesman Malcolm Hull says the win is a first for the region.
“Knowing that this one is the best of them, we can stick our chest out in the Mackay district, the whole Mackay Whitsunday region, and say ‘we’ve got the best house in Australia up here’,” he said.
